Got to give them credit for knowing their audience, though.
As a really rough and ready comparison, CAPP data is twice as many caries in US 12 year olds than UK 12 year olds (1.19 vs 0.6 DMFT).
Most shows *in America* don't. ;)
It's just a separate issue. Ivory or crooked teeth are not indicative of an unhealthy mouth.
There's a distinction to be made, too, between "healthy teeth" (i.e. fewer cavities, gingivitis) and straight, white, Hollywood smiles.
You don't want to be alone, you just don't want to hang out with the sort of people that go clubbing.
