Russia and China would like to know exactly where you work. And security would like to talk to you outside, for just a second. You can bring what’s on and in your desk if you’d like. lol.

It’s this POS that REALLY infuriate me. Douchebag knows he’s not gonna get reprimanded for shit like this, and gets a satisfaction out of the reaction from the flag bearer. Money he brags about this altercation and his action to his buddies. Ppl like him should never have been cops, and should have been left behind by society a long time ago. Sadly, too many of the federal cops I’ve worked with act like this. It’s sickening.

Unfortunately, but with good reason, that’s how police are trained. Once you make a decision to use lethal force, you’re trained to shoot to stop the threat, I.e. “center mass” and the head if “failure to stop.”. There is no such thing as deliberate warning or wounding shots. The reason to shoot here is BS, but once cop decided to shoot he wasn’t going to try and wound her.

This. The moment he stepped aside he was out of danger. And she posed no reasonable threat to him at that point. She posed no reasonable threat to the public at any point during this, thereby removing any justification for the use of force. Officer should have been trained not to position himself in front of the car for exactly this reason. Utter bulls-

Not defending this one, at all but Use of Force for most federal police says it’s justified if there is reasonable belief they feared for their safety; an injury doesn’t have to occur first. The federal officers I know (non-ICE) are trained to not put themselves directly in front of vehicles for their safety, which avoids this whole thing; dude should never have been standing there. Second, it sounds like they gave her conflicting commands and she panicked. IMO this wasn’t reasonable.

Agreed. What you said, or, none of the singular things they lose their shit about is enough for them to break their allegiance to T or the GOP - the issue is, imo, many of them don’t tally up all the singular issues they’ve previously given a shit about and collectively hold it against T or the GOP. “Ok, so when you look at all the stuff you’ve disliked from him, you haven’t liked A, B, C, D, E, etc etc etc, but yet, you still approve of this dude / the party?” “Yes.”

I get some of them might be in the impossible position of do it, and do it quietly or ruin your career, but they “should” reject that order from their superiors. On what basis does the Senators’ videos rise to the FBIs criteria for even a preliminary inquiry, forget a full investigation? GOP talked a lot of s—t about how the DoJ was weaponized against them… The continued hypocrisy and the magnitude of it shouldn’t surprise me, but does.

Are you telling me, you built a time machine… out of a DeLorean?

??? Those thicker cables? Those are the load bearing suspension cables for the walkway underneath, not a whole other system to use when the lower portion is underwater.

The federal police I know (non-ICE if that helps even marginally) are trained for “ask, tell, make” escalation when they encounter noncompliant vehicle occupants. Can you please get out of the car? I’m ordering you out of the car. Now I and my partners will forcefully remove you from the car. I make no comment about what’s happening in this video. I also don’t universally agree with police procedures, but yes, there are times when the police can remove you from a car.

That and faraday bags are kind of useless after a few uses anyway - they’re only good as long as the RF foil lining the fabric doesn’t crack or rip. Laugh, but it’s similar to aluminum foil. Fold foil a bunch of times back and forth across the same seam and it’ll rip. Same principle for faraday bags.

Ha! Read my other comment history man. Or don’t. F it. You’re just part of the problem at this part.

Lol. And we act like we’re better than Republicans? If you can’t handle hearing a moderate take on a sensitive issue, instead implying I should kill myself, you’re no better than the other team.

Lol - wut? Please explain how my comment led to you thinking I was ok for police to do what you suggested in your scenario? I’ll wait.

While you think on it, I’ve always disliked Imgurs knee jerk rxn to police issues that hit public discourse, mostly b/c the vast majority of public are Monday morning QB’ing, without experience to speak from. BUT! I also argue, that policing in this country, particularly recent developments with ICE are WAY beyond unconstitutional at this point.

I read this entire thread. lol, yikes. Supra - this is Imgur, no matter how correct you might be there’s a whole host of ppl that will never agree with you for any number of reasons, ESPECIALLY when it comes to LE operations, use of force, etc. While you make a valid argument here, ICE’s current detainment methods just make ppl even less willing to hear arguments that don’t align with a narrative they’ve already built. In a lot of ways, it’s no better than how some in the MAGA world react.

Another guy on a roof with a gun, except that one didn’t hit what he shot at.

That response by them spotlights the problem. They’re looking for a fight and a reason to arrest people. They’re just petty bullies. The uniformed cop has absolutely no justification to block the civilians, but as soon as one of the civilians even touches cop-in-the-wrong, they’d all be arrested by the goon squad who turn around to “back up” their guy. It’s absolutely insane.

Why is this comment the only one with this reasonable explanation? Everyone else just assumes the diver is an asshole, videoing this stuff only for clicks, or they are just an asshole. It’s entirely possible the diver is collecting invasive species. But I also recognize it’s equally possible the diver is not doing that.

Lolol. Yes. The emotional response is typically up top, but the rational response from someone with 1st hand experience in the topic, sometimes contradicting the first comment, is always buried in a sub-comment or “below the fold,” so-to-speak.

This seems false based on how much work it would take to identify these individuals, not to mention the likely illegality of such an act within the military.

This. It’s infuriating. We (dems) are supposed to be better than this bs.

In an ideal world, I’d agree with you. But, we don’t live in one, and there are ppl in this world who will commit violent crime, causing death and injury to others in situations that cannot wait for a tactical team to arrive. Your examples hold water in slowly developing or barricaded situations; but what happens to the victims who have to wait for armed police to respond during an active assailant situation? Car ramming, knife attacks, mall shooter? Strong words and pepper spray won’t cut it.

I agree with this, until the warning shot comment. Current UoF standards in the US is specially taught against “warning” shots. If you’re going to pull the trigger it’s to stop the threat. Iirc the argument allegedly is ricochets and where the “warning” shot goes to as well as its valuable seconds the threat could possibly harm you or others. Doesn’t mean I necessarily agree with the training though.

Jfc - like I know this is Imgur, and im about to get down voted to hell - even though I’m pro-systemic changes to US policing - but holy hell, if that doesn’t justify lethal force…bro, you can’t just run over people with a vehicle, especially when steering to the left, right, or backwards would have avoid the collision.

This. I absolutely hate the constitutional fallacy found in this post. You are allowed to say whatever you want, but your private employer can fire you for it. You have a little more protection if you’re a government employee, but not much. The first amendment only protects you from being arrested by the government for saying those things - typically.

I wish I could “super” like certain comments. Like once a week. Because, this. Love the selective indignity in this whole comment thread by certain posters.

Lol - maybe not everything needs to be linked back to it?, ffs. Had orange juice at break fast today? Whoops, forgot to mention the genocide. Scheduled a haircut? reminded them of the genocide! changed channels on the tv? GENOCIDE. Get over yourself. This is Imgur, almost everyone on here is anti-Israel at this point, but not EVERYTHING has to be linked back to the current conflict. Or made to feel like an ass by stating thats their opinion.

Not a lawyer, but sometimes property laws have some kind of statute of limitations. For instance, in my county in MD, I placed a fence not precisely on my property line but on my side of the line. If I don’t deliver a written letter to my adjacent neighbor and say I’m not relinquishing that sliver of property, then the owner of that adjacent property can claim it after ## years. Perhaps the same is true for planting trees, if the landlord doesn’t say otherwise?

Agreed. If and when we ever recover from this, every leading member of the military needs to be strip of ranked and removed. The guy is blatantly ignoring the CONSTITUTION, you know, the thing they swore an oath to protect. Jfc. As many other ppl are saying, this is turning into the worst live-action rendition of If You Give A Mouse A Cookie… except the mouse is the orange shit stain, and the cookie and everything after it, are any number of constitutional processes.
