I like gnocchi.
Trololo cat anyone? https://youtu.be/dIR3XFuY4Qs
I want to upvote this post but I’m scared that somehow the house will curse me if I do
Keep them blind to all else that moves
Well, this was incredibly depressing.
WTF you can’t sneak this shit up on me
Aaaaand I’m crying
I’m a week and a bit into dexamfetamine and it’s going really well. Not a fix-all but it gives you a break so you can start to fix yourself.
It is ADHD awareness month!
Inattentive diagnosis at 30 - three weeks ago - for me!
Are you currently being treated for your ADHD? If not, time to start the convo. If yes, time to tweak your treatment? Best of luck :)
Do research online, log symptoms, and talk to doctor about referral for a diagnosis. Be strong in your conviction if you think you have it!
I'm so glad you have a diagnosis! It's such a relief to have a solid answer and a way forward, right?
I'll look for a holistic approach long-term, but meds have certainly helped immediately so I can have a break and start to help myself. 2/2
It was a real lightbulb moment for me when I found ADHD and literally everything fell into place. Medication isn't a fix-all, and 1/2
Just asking how to support (as you just did) is extremely valued as well, even if people can’t articulate specific ways to help. Thank you!
Understanding time blindness, inability to prioritise (ie everything competes in our brain) and forgetfulness is a great place to start. 1/2
Against depression, anxiety, ASD, and anything else you think of. These conditions are often comorbidities and can mask ADHD. Good luck! 4/4
Second opinion if you’re not happy with the first. ADHD is often diagnosed at the exclusion of other disorders/issues, so check yourself 3/?
Take the list to your doctor and get them to cross-check it against their resources. If ADHD feels like the right fit for you, get a 2/?
Look up the symptoms - they can be different for subtypes. Tick the ones you have, think of examples at work/home/school and the effect. 1/?
My understanding is that some ADHD medications cannot be used together with some anti-depressants, but talk to your doctor!
2/2 adult, no one will advocate for you except you. If you think you have it and want answers/treatment, you need to drive it. Good luck!
I was diagnosed a few weeks ago! Do your research, log your symptoms, and talk to your doctor to get referred for a diagnosis. As an 1/2
I think this just may be the happiest video I've ever seen. Saved to my favourites for whenever I need a smile!
My brain also freezes like a computer sometimes - I’ll just pause and stare at the person/into the void and wait for the word to come back.
All the time. I wrote down symptoms to take to my GP and I forgot examples of things I forget as I was writing the list...
Losing your thoughts, writing things down in advance worked for us and sometimes I take notes during talks/arguments to address after. 3/3
If I did have ADHD while I was waiting for a diagnosis and it’s helped a LOT even in the meantime. If you worry about not being heard or 2/3
My communication issues with my husband almost vanished overnight once we realised ADHD may be the culprit. We started communicating as 1/3
30 yo/F and I’m worried about this. Diagnosis in itself has already helped a lot but I’m nervous finding the right meds will be difficult.
