I doubt our society has the intelligence to outsmart a murder of crows. We can make all the noise we want, shine lights at them, etc... they'll just caw to their buddies about how stupid we area.

While the Klan is mostly associated with their racist rhetoric, they hate a lot of other groups too, regardless of their skin color.

When cameras were invented, painters were furious that the results didn't look as good as their work. The public didn't care because it let anyone capture an image to paper without having to spend years practicing, or paying absurd amounts of money for something that can be done with the literal push of a button.

While the American people would want it - the people they elect would be fervently against it.

At best there'd be a last-minute slap-dash program that ends up in people dying, and we'd abandon manned space travel for another few decades.

They also don't support unmarried couples or single mothers. Been that way for decades.

Those lucky rurals, getting exactly what they voted for. Now they don't have to suffer any socialism, and can finally enjoy all the benefits of the free market.

The Democratic party prefers slow, incremental change - anything that upsets their donors is considered radical and needing to be "scaled back to reality". The GOP is fine with massive systemic change, because it helps them get what they want - more money for their donors.

The average voter is a non-issue. They're not considered 'real' Americans by either party unless they make above a certain threshold, or work in certain fields (medical, legal, political, etc).

The whole Nightwatch arc was chillingly accurate.

Yes. That's one of the Reconstruction Amendments that were put into the Constitution during the Civil War, and the South was required to accept them as part of re-joining the Union. They've hated them since day one, and have always worked to undermine or reinterpret them, regardless of which party represented them. Now that the GOP has control of the government, they'll roll them back in all but name.

The perfect company is one with no employees, no liabilities - just a CEO with a button, and every time he presses it the shareholders get money.

They think AI will help make that a reality.

This has been coming since at least the Iraq War, with the "Free Speech Zones". Protest all you want in a fenced in cage, under the freeway.... but if you step outside the zone you'd be arrested.

Those privately owned, small farmers are fucking themselves over and expect us to subsidies them while they lay the blame for all their problems on everyone else. They deserve to get everything they voted for. Costs are going to go up regardless. Gas goes up no matter how much we drill, electricity goes up no matter how efficient we get, homes get more expensive no matter how many we build, etc. If anything- farmers want high prices so they can make more money too. Your point is moot.

SCOTUS says anything the President does is legal, and the executive branch has the discretion of which laws to enforce.

The big firms have invested hundreds of billions, maybe even +trillion dollars into AI. They're not going to accept losses just because customers don't want what they're pushing. They prop up their numbers by forcing AI into everything you use, so they can claim you as a user, which makes their platform seem more popular than it is. Think of all the people who use MS Office for home/work/school. Now MS can claim they're all CoPilot users, even if they don't actually use it.

It's going to reveal the largest child trafficking operation in history... and a lot of familiar names in a lot of high up places.

Exactly. If it's something you want to do, you make the time.

People always assume that politicians are talking about them when they claim to be helping their constituents. The politicians only consider donors and supporters as constituents though, since they power the system that gets the politician elected.

Our memory is better than most animals, so after a few storms we realize it's just noise and we go about our business. It also helps that we have sturdy structures to hide in, and other amenities that keep us busy.
