Yes, there were such long ago times. Only they were just named as communism, nobody could not see it, it was only promised.

Also during these nearly 25 years my family lived in Ukraine, USSR Baikal region, Lithuania, North-East Africa.
So my sister and I were burn respectively in Germany and near Königsberg, Eastern Prussia (Kaliningrad Region of the Soviet Union after WW2)
typically every 5 years an officer was transfered for another service location (garrison, military base, etc), his family just followed him.
Typically career of an soviet army officer included 25 full service years until the retirement;
