I fell in love with a man who suffers from anxiety and depression. He's seemed receptive to the idea of tracking his symptoms. I wanted to share what I made him in hopes that it might help someone else. Lets have a mentally healthy 2018!

This is a mood tracker for the entire year. It's color coded and made to be customized to fit multiple emotions for each day.

This sleep log is designed so that you can highlight over the hours that you slept. Many of his depression triggers are immediately related to his sleep patterns.

Because emotions and symptoms with anxiety and depression differ from day to day, this graph is designed to pinpoint exact symptoms and their level of severity for each day they're felt.

Is he doing anything to help with your OCD?

My girlfriend seems to be the only cure for my anxiety. As lame as it sounds just lying on her chest really helps me

As someone who also suffers from anxiety and depression, I know that your love and support will be a greater cure then you think.

There's an app for iphones called imood that helps me a lot. It can graphically show you your mood swings over time. It helps me a lot.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is the most romantic, useful thing I have actually ever seen, you are a good person @OP

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seems like it would make a good candidate to be turned into an app

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Daylio. It's an app already. Helped save my life.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a dude with similar conditions, you're the SO that so many need. Keep kicking ass op!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You're wife material.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Good idea. I'll try this!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's beautiful

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You are incredible for doing this, it's obvious you put a lot of thought, effort, and love into it. I made PDFs and an excel sheet!

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I'm sounding like a broken record in the comments but I would highly recommend the app Daylio to anyone tracking moods and triggers ect..

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's awesome! I found these ideas mostly on Pinterest and tweaked them a bit to use what I thought would work for him.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I added them to my bio, they’re available there since Imgur won’t let me add the links in the comments! :(

I wish I find a wife like you...seriously.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Me too and I'm a straight woman

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I wish I find a partner like this....

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This is like porn to me. I Fucking love charts and graphs and lists and shit

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I really do too, which is why I think him and I work. I found making this very fun and therapeutic.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You might want to include a "behavior tracker" so he can see how exercise, food, relaxing, etc impact his symptoms.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I thought about that too but I didn't want to overwhelm him with a million charts. I figure we can add as the year goes on.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

True, compliance is the most important part of any system

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, as someone also coping with mental illness, trying to keep track of good habits would just make me feel guilty for not doing them :P

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For some reason I wanna give you a long hug.

8 years ago | Likes 702 Dislikes 8

Because this is amazing. I hope I end up with a loving woman as kind as you. Really. Brilliant.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I️ feel like you need a chart to track your moods bc a partner with these issues are very exhausting, hang in there! :)

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I will accept your internet hug and send you one in return :)

8 years ago | Likes 184 Dislikes 0

You are an angel.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

And a wee OCD.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You deserve all the hugs. What an amazing person you are.

I'm going to add a page to my journal with a table like this. I think it could really help towards my anxiety in times it gets bad. Thanks!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seriously, as a depressed person, I know how hard it is to deal with us, let alone help in a really meaningful way like this. Thank you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So much thank you. I'm going to try this. My anxiety is out of hand and I don't know what to do. Maybe this will help .

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As someone who had PTSD among other issues I need these in my life, please link when you upload a printable version please!!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Google /insta/Pinterest bullet journal for all sorts of ideas like this

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daylio. App. Check it out.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nothing helps Anxiety and Depression more than looking at a chart of how many days you were shitty to be around.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

But the one "good day" you never thought you'd have amongst terrible ones can give you hope another will come. Can save a life. Hope.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

People are easily lead by numbers and false statistics. If I saw that 25 out of 30 days were bad, I'm not hoping for another good day.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're missing "horny"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*no expert* i think that this could just make things worse. Like constantly nit picking at your emotions can't be good for you

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think I'll definitely give this a try! Thank you so much OP I already shared it with a friend too

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I hope it helps! :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daylio. Mood tracker app. And so much more. Check it out.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Microsoft Excel would save you A LOT of time

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yeah that's not the point. Habit building and intentionality are.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea, but I really like to craft. I found it really therapeutic. Plus it makes it special because its all done by hand.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Just for diversity: Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In app form there is Daylio, though it is nowhere near in-depth as this art.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't see horny or craving a good BJ on the list I think you should add both those "symptoms"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s awesome! Be prepared to help fill it in. When I had anxiety & depression many time I definitely wouldn’t have had the energy for this

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I agree, that was my first thought also.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Daylio is an app that takes out all the work. Essentially the same thing but better.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean, I still have them. They’re just under control now

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I just wanna say @ClevelandClementine you are amazing. My gf and I just broke up mainly due to my anxiety. It's great that you care so much

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

And I'm sorry to hear about your breakup. I understand completely that very situation.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thanks. I suppose it became too much for her. And I didn't know the damage it caused until too late. Communication is key

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just wanna share: My bf is moving out, mainly due to our inability to communicate together. I wish he wanted to work it through w.me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I understand, my bf...my ex bf is bipolar and he cut me out of his life after one fight in 3 months. He isn't on meds and won't get help.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm truly sorry it turned out like that. A tough situation indeed..if you like to vent I can listen :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks but it's been a month now and I've done all the venting one human can do. I just have to keep looking ahead and let him go as he did.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe allowing him some time to himself will help to improve your communication together. However, that is easier said than done.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I acknowledge that. He should be able to take care for himself as well, do what he needs to do. .

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try a Fitbit to track sleep too. Tells you what you actually sleep.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

I wear my Fitbit sleeping so I know how much I’m restless and awake during the night

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I didn't know that, I wonder if I should get something like this for the same purpose even if it's a cheap Chinese knockoff...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't know how effective they would be but the charge2 works very well for me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got my dads original charge and it’s working great

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I found mine wasn’t very accurate. Either that or I’m working a physical job on 2 hrs sleep every night.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The potential fix to this is adjusting the sensitivity in the settings. I think it's under sleep sensitivity settings.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine never records when I wear it too loose. Could that have been an issue?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope he keeps up with this. It looks like a useful tool.

8 years ago | Likes 234 Dislikes 2

I actually got through depression and I’m guessing different things work for different people, all this structure would be too much for me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I really hope so too. He's good days are awesome but his bad days can be really bad. I'm just hoping this helps him see his patterns.

8 years ago | Likes 60 Dislikes 0

Work with him to help keep these updated and don't get mad at him for missing a day. Shame spirals can make these things worse.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope this works out for him! I might share this with my best friend. Her depression and anxiety is usually trigger related and this could

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Help her maybe find out what those triggers might be.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It worked well for me. I also learned to correlate sleep patterns with moods or events. It helped “trouble shoot” or predict and avoid >

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Also try getting him to write down small events of the day. It helps in finding and coping with situations or possible triggers.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Have his testosterone levels tested. He might be ok but Hormone therapy saved my life.

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

Also I'm only 32 so its not just for old guys

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This is actually something that we've discussed a lot.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'd do it sooner rather than later, low T in men leads to osteoporosis as well as other issues.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was amazed by the results. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions about it.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I really appreciate that. Thank you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Explain please.

Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone have a multitude of effects on mood and energy levels, which then affect overall mental health--

Publicity for imbalances in these hormones is generally focused on women (eg. PCOS, PMS), but men can suffer as well. AND, because they--
