NICU is for babies that are at high risk for one reason or another and need special care. For example: premature births or the baby can't breathe enough by themselves to keep their oxygen levels high enough

We are extremely lucky to have carried to full term and only had some oxygen issues. I can't imagine how difficult watching those tiny tiny humans go back by themselves
