Surprised to find this way down here. The meme of the man playing this on his drum (and the subsequent evolutions) were amazing
I once went to a signing where RA Salvatore (humorously) talked about how they didn’t consult him for covers and these just kind of happened
The sequel trilogy being bad does not retroactively improve the prequels. They’re all riddled with execution problems, and while the prequels respect the lore, that only amounts to good intentions, which doesn’t make a good movie. Better dialogue, pacing, even performances across the cast, maybe, you know, removing the racist stereotypes - all would been the beginning of a better trilogy.
Early Mistborn actually has mediocre prose and a tendency towards melodrama. He gets better at it with subsequent books, but Sanderson is about the world building. Depending what you had a tough time with, it might not improve enough to make a difference.
Most fun I had with a game all year (though I didn’t play any of the GOTY nominees)
Probably the most realistic take here, thanks for that
Cinnamon agave butter
The guitar to Jolene isn’t particularly easy either
The talent pool in the service industry experienced a huge migration post-pandemic, so while there’s still some opportunity, there’s also a reason why so many experienced bartenders left
I think you’re generally right, but hyperbolic enough that you’re damaging your argument.
*Says he has nothing against football, eloquently slams football*
-t’s goin on?!!
Seattle has a cool bookstore mini-chain called third place books
Plenty, honestly. If we’re disregarding Force abilities beyond sense/intuition (like “magic” spells) Mace Windu, Sidious, Yoda, Darth Vader who was much stronger after years of being immersed in the dark side. Shit gets pretty murky in the Old Republic but I bet people like Revan and Bane could give him a run.
Didn’t know I’d be in a meme for THAT particular bit of lore…
Fucking love Imgur sometimes
Sock is also a funny player and probably enjoyed the joke-iness of the situation
Holy shit I’m sorry
#3 and they spent the whole day at the business factory doing a business
“This is why I want the law to prohibit you, though”
That’s a lot of upvotes for a pretty mean thing to say
Food crimes in general are pretty American
I know. I’ve also spent time with people who could have benefited from embodying several (not all) of these points in a non-professional setting. Be amiable, engage others on their interests, be aware of whether you’re dominating the conversation and alienating the other person.
I feel like that book is for people without natural charisma, or have some unattractive traits (sarcastic, judgmental, etc.) and it hammers home humility while avoiding being egocentric. It doesn’t imply being a pushover, I’d say
Unless you’re doing something to it to make it tender, eating a well done steak makes you a coward.
I was responding to what sounded to me like hyperbole, and the vibe of “therapists are bad and women will hurt you” when it’s more nuanced than that.
There are plenty of good therapists and plenty of good women out there.
Maybe unpopular opinion, but I still think his darkest moments are always going to be his time in Bridge Four in WoK.
Totally. I’m referencing the more general “what would you like to drink,” not “would you like water?” Nicer restaurants ask for clarification if your response to the former is “just water”, if you would like bottled or not.
