Whoa really? I can't speak for the other departments but in mine we only have one female PI. I do cancer research too!
In the labs you will see plenty of women working etc. but in my department (malignant heme) there is only ONE female PI out of 10-15 total.
My research building is attached to a hospital and I've never seen a male nurse. I guess you guys are like unicorns.
