You know the drill. Snapshot and get to FP and I'll do something. Probably send you a German Shepherd calendar or something.
They're not exclusively white supremacist symbols, but defintely tells that story when you've got half a dozen and many other racist indicators. He's more of a Christian nationalist, although that's obviously no better.

It took me way too long to realize that you weren't saying Neil Armstrong invented radio and was a bad person. Way too long.
You see, it's okay when you do it for money. /s
The last two games that checked these boxes for me:Kingdom Come Deliverance 2Ghost of Yohtei
I'm with you. Solitude rarely bothers me. However, I have begun to think that maybe it has made me a bit too complacent. A bit too at peace with mediocrity. I can't tell if that's unhealthy, or actually very mature. Have I made peace with my limitations and learned to accept a lower tempo lifestyle with less ambition in a zen way? Or have I embraced not challenging myself to be a better me, because there is no one to better myself for? It's a mystery. Still peaceful, though.
Multiple Critical Role memes in one unrelated dump? Is it my birthday?
They're Marshals, not ICE.
They're not ICE. They're U.S. Marshals. Be sure to fuck the right people.
Seriously, guys, it's written all over their gear. People are so used to seeing ICE videos with needless force that anyone in LE/military gear "must" be ICE. Let's not throw away our basic reading comprehension just for the sake of being righteously angry. Makes us look bad.
We don't want it back. If they put it to a vote, the people would tell them we don't want it back. No average person here cares about this flag or where it is. I'd wager the majority actually don't even know it exists.
This is one of my favorite things to do at any event with a bunch of people who don't know each other. Quickly find a person willing to accept my initial small talk with good humor. The first other person we encounter gets told we are actually longtime friends/extended family/ex-sisters-in-law/etc. Make up fun and amusing "histories." Repeat them enough to other people at the event tongue in cheek. Watch people try to decide if it's true or not. It's great fun.
Thanks to therapy, I leaned into the golden retriever mindset that every stranger is just a friend waiting to happen. And, wouldn't you know it, I started making more friends. What we assume about people is often a self-fulfilling prophecy. Although, you kind of have to learn the other golden retriever trick that if someone doesn't want to be a friend, that you just let it roll off your back and move on.
Does he do that on purpose, or does he truly believe in what he's selling? Like, is he purely a grifter making his patients sicker, do he can keep curing them? Or is he deluded into believing that everyone who disagrees with him is genuinely wrong?
Also, Catholic Social Teaching. It literally declares workers right to unionize. Cheating people of a fair wage is considered so heinous that it is called one of the "sins that cry out to heaven for vengeance." The Catholic Church does not mess around with workers rights.
They would have absolutely crucified Obama, or any Democrat who did the same things, but I don't think anyone previously would have gotten away with it. George W. and his father probably would have resigned with some dignity. There are many reasons the current admin does what they do now, but a big reason its successful is the cult of personality.
The field of work and experience mattered more where I was looking. Experienced tradesman were in high demand. And Bachelors professions too, but mostly in things like the medical field. Most generic, white collar jobs don't get you far.
Euro countries don't like to talk about it, but many of them have populations just as racist as ours. At least with immigrants. When I lived in Germany, the anti-Turkish snobbery was real. I imagine it's worse nowadays and in more countries. If you look like the majority of people where you want to go, you might have a chance of blending in. Also, stop leaning on things. Apparently, that's a dead giveaway for Americans.
Super hard to qualify for a work visa there, either. I've looked. Unless you have a highly sought after specialty, you're not getting one.
#4 I'm both furious and encouraged by this. I didn't know ranked choice voting had a popular enough movement for them to consider it threat enough to ban it. Unless its just about those couple Omaha and Maine (?) that they want back.
Really seems like herding dogs in general have the leg up. In the smaller categories it's common to see corgis excel and in the larger groups, Malinois and GSDs. Although, I've seen Goldens do pretty well, too.
I'm with you. Getting a new dog should have the whole family involved, because it will be part of the whole family. Also great teaching moment for kids to consider consequences, responsibilities, how to choose the right dog (hair/fur, temperament, energy level, etc.), and either find an ethical breeder or the reality of shelters and older dogs that need homes. Are we buzz kills for feeling this way?
They're basically an agility cheat code. Bred to be wicked fast, dodge scared/angry animals in rough terrain, problem solve independently, intensely focus on their herd like it's their sole purpose in life, while also being instantly obedient to commands and almost mind read their handler. Perfect for this event.
Oddly, Putin does seem to genuinely love dogs. The video of him receiving a dog as a gift and the politician giving it to him handling it roughly...Putin stared poisoned daggers at the man. Then cuddled the puppy like it was a baby. Of course, Hitler also loved his dogs. So...I guess I'm saying treatment of dogs is a nuanced indicator and I don't know what my point was supposed to be.
Studies do suggest there is a genetic component to Alzheimers. This freaks me out because I have relatives on both sides of my family that passed because of it. In this case, it does make his own potential diagnosis all the more believable.
Is that the ICE guy that reportedly had the tip of his finger bitten off? Human mouths are gross. He should get a tetanus shot. Wonder if it was his trigger finger...
Yeah, with 10 shots fired, it seems like someone got spooked and misfired one shot. Then another one of them assumed it was the guy splayed on the ground by multiple others. He emptied his own 9 round clip into the victim.
At the Minneapolis VA. Many sites say he was a veteran himself.
See, whats nuts is my dad was literally in the diplomatic corps. It blows my mind. It's like when he retired, he abdicated his desire for much in-depth, critical thinking.
This is why I never understand how people can feel this false superiority by calling Republicans/Conservatives dumb. People like your father and mine (who only has one Masters, the loser...), and countless others are not uneducated or unintelligent. Thinking of the right that way makes our cause weaker, not stronger. You must know your enemy accurately, not how you want them to be.
