One is the parallax effect (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallax) which is an optical illusion.In addition, the plane may be facing serious headwind and thus fly slower over the ground than it should look like. If possible, planes take-off and land with headwind, because it adds to their indicated airspeed.
