A baseline model 3 is not a status symbol. its like saying a Geo Metro or ford tarus is a status symbol.

i would trade mine in. bought it to replace a 2000 expedition. But I just want an EV with the same minimalistic interior. Anyone have any recommendations?

I appreciate the two weeks notice. longer if i get it. i get to stop all new work for the employee and help out closing out their existing work. my PM gets a jump on rescheduling people for projects we committed to. I get a jump on posting the position. then there is the going away lunch/dinner that needs planning. wait. i almost forgot, first if they are leaving for a different job title and they give me the opportunity, i talk with hr and other managers to see if we have an equivalent position

In my experience individuals with a music background make better developers. between two people all things equal, i will hire the one who did music in school or is still doing music over someone who does not.

get into QA. write automated tests. then you have a less stressful job and can still mentor and educate the dev team. plus you are no longer responsible for answering the phone at 3am for a production issue

I’m a manager. No fucking way do i expect 1.5x work for 1.5x pay. The company is paying 1.5x because they are taking you away from your family, hobbies, friends etc. maybe id change my thinking if they were earning 75/ hr…. but the aint even close to that.

agreed, but a nice looking resume without spelling and egregious grammar mistakes get put on the further review pile for most

Im a manager of hourly staff. i examine timesheets like Sherlock Holmes on a mission! I f*king make sure every damn penny is accounted for! When I see a straight 8-5 m-f timesheet with 1 hour lunch breaks deducted… i know them mf’ers are lying!! Because for damn sure i know most of them come in early, stay late and occasionally work over lunch and its noted in my notes! So i fix it for them! Slackers all em! cant get then to be honest on a time sheet ;)

4 of us sat in the room and just talked about the times spent w/ her mom. good times only. Hours stretched into days. Always someone at her side. Nurse came in one day, tells me some times people pass when they are alone. Took them to lunch that day. We sat and ordered. We got the call. The end had come while we were away.

my aunt was born in the 50s. Left handed. The school she went to tied her left hand back and forced to use her right hand.

Bad management. Bad communication. I promoted a direct a report. Their base would go up ~15k. However we get minor raises yearly. I talked with my direct report and explained I can give them the full 15k right out the door or reduce it by a little so they get a raise 3 months after the promotion with everyone else. It wasn’t in the budget to do both 15k + raise. For clarity, my position isn’t high enough to control the budget. Management should have collaborated with you. I’m sorry :(

My staff is hourly. Im salaried. If I happen to be eating lunch with one of my staff, and i mention work, i make the company pay for lunch and the hour. It’s the right thing to do.
