Public financing is supposed to help counter that. It's not a perfect solution, but it makes it possible to run for president without being rich or accepting bribes. I don't give or donate $3 to anyone. I tell the IRS to put $3 of the tax I already paid into the fund so any regular person can have a fighting chance against the billionaires.
Then what about the other part: should all nazis die? Should every single Trump voter die? People casually call 77 million people nazis and all nazis should die, but are justifiably outraged when the president talks about declaring war on Democrats. I don't think we should kill every Trump voter. Do you?
I always check Yes on that box. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't. It's not a "donation". It doesn't increase your tax or decrease your refund. The whole thing is setup to help keep elections clean and fair. Candidates that accept public funding have to agree to use *only* the public funding and agree to other rules.
I think that's a more enlightened approach. We can't murder our way to social justice. Some people will never change, but there are many who can and will. Let's hope enough people change their views that we can halt and roll back the damage that's been done. In the meantime stay strong and stand proud.

I've literally hidden two gay friends in my house when someone was literally out to kill them. Like gun in hand. Not figuratively or someday-they-might, but literally out trying to kill them. It was a step-father and he was arrested in front of my house.I refused to leave a PFLAG meeting after a bomb threat. The cops came and said they couldn't be sure if the threat was real or not and advised everyone to leave. Not everyone who disagrees with or questions you is a nazi.
