I have seen this so many times and never noticed that.
On year 5 and have only gotten occasional comments from my mom and once from someone I barely knew.

Ours only had one teacher on it. Some of these would not have gotten through, but lots would have.
I have experienced only extra encouragement and positive attention for being female. I have never felt under valued for being female.
Have encountered is not having female companionship... Which I guess might be a big enough turn off to some.
