AFAIK One of the first touchscreen Nokia phones had the same feature (but I'm sure my Lumia 920 had the double tap to wake feature)
That's almost correct, but Lumia 950 has Iris Scanner, not Facial Recognition
AFAIK built in facial recognition with depth sensing was introduced to the masses by Microsoft (Surface lineup).
