Bag on HTC all you want...But I bought that first HTC One in 2013, and that phone was the SHIIIIIIT.

So much snark in the comments...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Tech companies like to rip each other off and pretend they always invent the new stuff.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Wowzers. That got more eyeballs than expected. Thanks :D Feel free to check out goos3d.ie - it's a hobby I've been at for years. Much love!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 7

LG G4 has the same feature. it's from 2015.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was on the LG G2, as well, from 2013.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My daughter is using a four year old iPhone and my sons use 5 year old iPads. They all hold charges just like day one and work great.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I wish they'd revamp the 4. Perfect size.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The best part of all these idiotic "arguments" is people parading snapchat out like it matters. We all know what Snapchat does on android.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except Nokia with windows phone did it before HTC

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I also remember when HTC made a profit.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What is touch to wake?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

you tap the screen and the phone wakes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So "innovation" now means releasing 3 year old features? That's a step up for apple. It used to be two years.

8 years ago | Likes 145 Dislikes 15

They didn't claim that touch-to-wake is a new and innovative feature. It's just a feature.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 30

It's been like this for the last few generations honestly.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does 'Tap to Wake' mean tapping the screen to get it to turn on? Cuz my LG G Stylo does that and quite frankly, it's a piece of shit.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I actually kind of like it .. :( -- Have a G6 now, so don't use the feature because fingerprint sensor, but still was nice

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's a great feature. What also would've been a nice feature is functioning GPS, though. It's the phone that's shit, not the tapping.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's LGs own knock feature that they have had forever. Apple just pretty much used the same concept and slapped a new name.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So, if history is any indication, in a year Apple will be suing LG for stealing their IP

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

OLED "Super Retina" display tho...

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

Only had that for two years on my Nexus 6p

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol my pixel has better resolution than the iPhone X

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 3

My V20's LCD screen has a better resolution

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

:D :O :D :O :D

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

but can you see it?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 4

It's stupidly overkill. Why do people need 1440 on ~5.5", when they don't give a shit about >1080p on computer monitors?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's not that they don't give a shit, it's just drastically more expensive to make high DPI on a larger panel.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because you don't watch them from the same distance. I used to think the 1440*2880 on my LG G6 was overkill until I saw a 720p phone again.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean I had the G4 and S7 (also 1440) and I very easily went back to 1080p (Xiaomi Mi5), which is the sweet spot.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea that is great....that is why every single phone mimics the iPhone.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

Still prefer iPhone over droid. Tried the s8 brought it back within a week.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 13

Same here. I tried 2android phones and just felt meh. with my iTunes library and family stuff it just doesn’t make sense to change.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

I changed from the S7 to the S8 and want my S7 back. What an annoying phone. But I'd still take it over iPhones. I can't stand iOS.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The s8 is the most annoying droid phone I've owned. Beautiful to look at, annoying as shit to use. Bixby can fuck off. Getting the new sony

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Go OnePlus 5. Essentially stock android. Good performance at a great price.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

meh, I don't pay for my phone. I've had a few Sony phones over the years and love them except for some model's fragility.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

its just iOS is so dumbed down its fine for surfing the web and simple shit but i like the ridiculous shit i can get on my droid

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Subsequently 2014 was also the last time HTC was relevant and something we actually tried to get people to buy for legitimate reasons.

8 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 15

I loved my EVO. I should look into them again

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I am quite happy with my htc 10 or should i say htc x .

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I think Pixel phones are great

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But pixel, while made by HTC, is all Google's doing, they don't get any credit for that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

AFAIK One of the first touchscreen Nokia phones had the same feature (but I'm sure my Lumia 920 had the double tap to wake feature)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A grand for the iPhone X? GTFO, this is just retarded now.

8 years ago | Likes 170 Dislikes 11

What's even more ridiculous us that they will be back ordered for months because stupid people will buy them.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

get a OnePlus 5 for half the price

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Given that any phone plan will knock that down to likely $250, I don't see a big problem.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

$1579 in Australia, or $1829 for 256GB. But I have to admit, it does look very nice

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Like phone prices even matter when ur sucked into a plan

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

I haven't been in a contract for over 10 years because of a phone.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They don't offer many phone subsidy plans anymore.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

To be fair, the galaxy note 8 is almost a grand as well. But the galaxy s8 has so many more features that the iPhone and it's cheaper

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Got my S8 for $420 (no joke) because of special from Best Buy.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Note 8 is garbage. No new features and less battery life compared to the s8+ but much higher price

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Isn't it bigger? I have not done any research so I don't know

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a very slight increase in size and the screen resolution is the same. But it has a smaller battery so battery life is shit

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Bigger, higher resolution screen, and has a stylus

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll be using this for the resulting price drop on all the other models. I'll finally be able to afford a 7S!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Is this a joke? Cos there is no 7s they went straight to 8

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry, Autocorrect error. Me and a friend have regularly ranted about the lack of a 7S. I didn't catch the error, sorry!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lol no need to be sorry I was just confused if there's a joke I don't get

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's no joke there, just operator malfunction and an overly enthusiastic program.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't get it. It's obviously a new feature for Apple, thus worth being mentioned in their 'new features' section...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Also three year old technology is hardly out of date. That's practically cutting edge for all in tents and pur purses.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not in phones, it ain't. 3 years is 2-4 generations old.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ya, and they are all about the same.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not that Apple isn't worth shitting on, but the HTC isn't doing much better

8 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 28

Yeah their stocks are down but their phones are certainly quality material. Blame it on their marketing budget.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

The only reason I swapped from my HTC M8 to a Samsung S7 is because I was mugged, and the store didn't have any decent spec HTC phones

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still rocking an M8 Windows Phone, like it better than my G2, mostly because it can take way more abuse.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, but it's doing it first.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Id be typing this on an HTC 10 if it werent for the fact that its a Bell exclusive here.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eris, Rezound, M8, M10. There's a reason I've only owned HTC smartphones. Best features for price.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Pardon? I've had an M8 and have had my m9+ for two years...no issues.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 2

I am browsing imgur on my m7 right now.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Just got an essential. My m8 then my m9 were awesome tough phones. I just don't like the newer ones they have been making

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I own a 10 and it's amazing. I miss the stereo speakers, though, but the rest is better in every way.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That is what drew me to them in the first place loved those front facing speakers.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

HTC has one of the highest ratings per phone of any company. They also make some of the toughest phones. Apple is just Mcdonald's of phones

8 years ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 20

They're also failing hard as a company. Which isn't fair when you think trash like Apple is worth billions.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

Isn't HTC mobile side of things getting naught out by Google?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I know they already make a software for their devices with google that is HTC only, so I wouldnt be surprised by that honestly.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Apple is the new IBM. They have standards down to a tee, but their insistence on conformity means they are falling behind innovators.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Apple is more like Taco Bell in Demolition Man.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That is the greatest reference I have heard all week.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You're too kind. But I agree.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can eat at McDonalds for a couple $. Apple products are the most expensive and the least powerful. I don't think that's a good comparison

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 4

The difference is; most applefanboys dont pay attention to the other ecosystem so these "innovations" Are new...to them

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I'd say maybe Apple are the Five Guys of burgers? Kinda over priced for what it is, but weirdly popular, and has a fancy machine.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

lol, that's pretty spot on

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Except five guys is delicious.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Shakeshack is delicious too, about the same price, and they do something unique with their products.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Apple are by far the most cheaply made and easiest to fix cost wise. They are Mcdonald's because of their momentous branding.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

But they're expensive as fuck to buy

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Why? Marketing and branding.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

easiest to fix???? wtf are you smoking - i want some

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

You are showing your ignorance on the subject. I can fix 4 Iphones for the cost of any one Samsung. And lets not even talk HTC or Motorolla

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

"Least powerful". You realize that they're industry leaders in phone/tablet CPUs, right? Their CPUs shit all over the competition.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 9

If you can give a source on it would be great. Based on my limited research you are incorrect.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Apple's A series SoC is good, perhaps even excellent, at what it does. The rest of the components that make up an iphone are trash tier.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Basically no RAM, no IR blaster, no microsd card, proprietary "lightning", very low ppi screen, no replacing battery

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Apple's SoC will lose in every benchmark to a snapdragon, but it's real world performance is very strong thanks to optimization for iphone
