Having had my cat claw a fresh tattoo.. #6 makes me cringe
don't allow shoes inside. And c) I have cats who vomit everywhere. That's awful to step in barefoot or in socks.
getting my clothes dirty in the process, b) my feet get super cold even wearing thick wool socks. I bring slippers to places I know (3/?)

Grew up in an old house with old pine floors. Not wearing shoes meant you risked catching your foot or sock on a nail head that worked (1/?)
perhaps the father believes they shouldn't go to college, and should get a job/start at the family business. I could keep going.... (2/2)
perhaps the college is far away and he didn't want his child being so far from home. perhaps he felt threatened by their intellegence. (1/?)
