They know. They’ve always known. It’s the main selling point of the party. They keep around a few useful tokens who are not welcome at their garden parties, but they have always known and should always and forever be treated like they have always known because they did.
It’s troubling to me that these people are treated like fools or children. Given the benefit of the doubt at every turn and allowed to continue destroying lives because we all treat them like they’re simply too stupid to know better. Do you know what other type of person behaves like this? Someone completely unmoored from society. A person who believes they are absolutely above all laws and consequences.
