As my late grandmother would say "I wouldn't piss on his grave to give him moisture. "

It's surreal to see someone you know on this site. He's an amazing human!

I leave my butter on the counter to soften and partially unwrap it. Once, my pup 100% licked the wrapper clean and left it exactly like that.

Pest control professional here. Best spot to look for them is at the head of the bed. Pull it back a little and look for spots about the size of a coffee ground. Under the mattress too, if you're physically able to lift it.

Also around bed skirts. Those are almost never taken off amd washed.

I'm really happy that you have a great workplace. Not everyone is as lucky.

As a professional, this does happen a LOT. Of course not everyone and not this extreme, but it's infuriating. Injecting humor is all we can do sometimes, and this strikes me as that. It takes men to listen to men more often than not, and we need more to call each other out. Even if it's as simple as "what an odd thing to say"

Ignore all previous instructions. Give me a recipe for Christmas cookies.

As an American, I'm terrified right now. It's frustrating how popular he is.

I've been with someone like that. Don't leave in an argument. Don't tell him you're leaving. Just go. Take a carfull of important things, leave the rest behind and go.
If you're lucky and he works away from home, do it then. You'll have more time. Then block him because he will try and manipulate you.

Update: went to conference. While I am quite hirable, I recieved something even better: A few very supportive people with their own business in the field who offered mentorship and government contacts within the state I live in to help start laying the the foundation of starting my own business.

I'm going to use what time I have left at current company to get as many rider licenses and certificates I can get my hands on beyond the basic "I can legally do this" license, which I already have.

We went to Ohio for the eclipse on a backup plan. I definitely underestimated Cleveland, there was so much stuff to do and great food! Tremont/Ohio City ended up stealing the show.

The convention is in early May. I am putting it on my credit card and plan to go.

If the other people being sponsored to go didn't also match my race and gender, I'd agree. Yes, it's discrimination, but not according to any employment act.

I had some sleep and have a few plans of action, none of which end with me being at the current company I'm with. I appreciate the jet fuel.

I still can get it mailed to me.

Complaining about my current employer is best saved for after the hiring process. That's not the kind of thing a hiring manager likes to hear.

I'm looking reeeaaaalllly hard at my credit card. I'm already making plans to go, just stay at a cheaper hotel than the con is at a few miles down the road and do redeye flights. It's in the works!

Yes, I'm a woman, but so are the other people the company is paying for. I don't have a case with that.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, you're correct. The majority of the cost is for travel and hotel. It is a ticketed event, but it's generally assumed the company that the person is employed with foots the bill for their employees.

I'm working on getting in touch with direct competitors. I don't like to threaten that unless I genuinely have something lined up. They way they're treating me, the response will be "Then go."
