The Nazis didn't start with the holocaust, and to not see the escalation of this administration's actions leading towards darker behavior is exactly what leads to those actions coming to pass. I wasn't saying it's automatic, I was trying to say keep the hope, but it must have come off in a way I wasn't intending. This will pass, and we need to band together against hopelessness while in the fight for change. I've been seeing a lot of defeatist mentality, and it's not helpful. Change will always come, so fight until it does
There is always a next time. Evil may ebb and flow, but good will always find its way back into the light. History shows us these cycles again and again. There will be trials and hardship along the way, but you have to keep the light within you to face them. As a non-American who has spent time in the US, they've certainly committed quite a few atrocities, no doubt about that. Though, to liken modern day reservations to concentration camps is a deep misunderstanding of what they are, and downplays the horrors of the camps. Native Americans aren't being held there; they have free travel, can buy land/ live anywhere in U.S., have full citizenship, and are self governing on reservations. Now the current ICE deportation facilities on the other hand...
