There's a stark difference between adaptation and ripped assets. The former is inspiration and evolution. This is the latter. I'm assuming you have good intention, but just because assets are open source does not mean they are free game, it means the creator wants them to be used to enhance the experience that already exists. Your work is bordering on plagiarism and I don't want to see you go down that path when you clearly have a passion for this.
