If it is any consolation the people here are furious. We've been gerrymandered to hell and back for decades and that is the only way the republicans are getting away with this shit. We are fighting back, I promise.

We have one blue county because we have been Gerrymandered to hell and back. 20+ years ago my high school history teacher went into depth about how badly the republicans had already fucked us. A woman I know personally spent several years suing republican leaders because as a statistician she had discovered provable irregulars with the voting machines vs registrations. She never did win against them but they did change the voting machines. Most of us are good people and trying our hardest.

Yeah, the MAGA cult is a cult of personality and typically when the personality goes so does much of the cult. They're plenty who will stay loyal to the movement because they believe in fascism but a significant portion will lose interest once the leader is gone.

There are clear(ish) rules, a script, and a limited number of facial expressions that are even allowed.

#25 hell, yeah! We're fighting the fascists too!

Heck, you could keep the wrapper on and they would still be scared.

This is why gerrymandering is so important to them. The majority of people who are living in close proximity to people different from themselves are liberal. Smaller more isolated communities are easier sway intolerant ideologies. They claim it's to give more power to rural people while raking those rural people over the coals and claiming it's the other side doing it.

We escaped to Kansas and it's nice. A lot more progressive than you'd think at least in the cities. Pretty affordable compared to other states and a decent job market. I run into MAGAts here and there but at least they have better manners than the ones from SE OK.

I'm not shocked. I graduated high school over twenty years ago and would say half of my peers were functionally illiterate. Irony being it was a "good school" but the school was just really good at checking boxes to get lots of state funding while doing the very bare minimum for students to pass Scantron tests.

#31 love all the biphobia we're getting this year for pride. Better demand all of the alleged bisexuals publicly perform their sexuality so it can be approved by the real gays. /s

Yes. The kink community have been our oldest allies. They have fought and bled for the rest of us the same as the rest of us. The prudishness feels the same as "well it's fine if they're gay but they shouldn't hold hands or kiss in public! I don't want my children to see that! The kink community are allowed to march with us.

"Internet experts" now call all digital painting AI bc they don't understand that that digital paintings are what was stolen and fed to these AI. To spot the difference they would have to learn about the actual art.

It can also be a symptom of thyroid disease. You are right, the best option is to talk to a doctor.

#1 it might be just the way his skin is at the moment, growing bodies can be weird. It could also be a symptom of at least one congenital illness I know of. Really it should be discussed with their pediatrician or a GP especially if there is a family history of the illness. Either way the skin isn't at fault or causing harm so just let it be. The parents might also be able to get a referral to a dermatologist if everything else checks out ok.

#10 If you are feeling disregulated eat something before you go to the grocery store. Ideally protein but a handful of crackers or something sweet will do. Stress messes up your blood sugar and harms your ability to make decisions and to focus. I like to keep protein shakes for this reason. Something easy and filling when everything is overwhelming.

#8 in a luke-warm defense of Starbucks as someone who worked there a long time ago: the baristas are trained to make them correctly but those Starbucks customers would fight with us all morning long because no matter how well or many times you explain to them that they want a latte not a cappuccino they just stand there yelling until a manager tells you to do it "correctly" and then you get a write up for mishandling a customer.

#7 my parents neighbor flys that flag. He tried to take nude photos of me and my cousins when we were 12.

Actually I'm underselling them by comparing them to hot pockets. They aren't filled pie shells like hot pockets but filled, soft, fluffy buns.

#5 Beirocks are just homemade hot pockets. Not at all weird and super tasty. Was just talking yesterday to an Englishman that moved here about how good they are especially made with venison.

As early childhood educator I begin teaching this at about age three. We play "The Manners Game" where (amongst other things) they practice setting boundaries and how to talk about things that make them uncomfortable. Like, how to tell someone no and what to do when a boundary is violated or what to do when someone else tells them no and how to respect someone else's boundary. They pick it up very quickly.

#9 Every time someone says "Oh, you're so smart!" to me my brain shows me a little slideshow of all the times I've accidentally put moldy fruit in my mouth because I forgot to look at it first.

I hate that her family scrubbed her YouTube vlogs and only left the inspirational stuff. She used to talk in a frank and real way about her health and future and I had really loved listening to her thoughts.

#40 There's a book about this, I think it's called "A libertarian walked into a bear." They were feeding the bears and had cut all wildlife services, of course.

I used to make a venison hot dish with french fried onions for the topping. It was heavenly.

Don't wait for your homies to obviously be down before you offer hugs and kindness. Be the kind of friend that makes people feel good about themselves.

Yeah, it takes a special stupid kind of person to enjoy fruity seasonal ice cream. Definitely no one familiar with flags would ever eat such a thing! /s
