I recently took a concealed carry class and a good 50% of it was "pay attention to your surroundings and if you see a bad situation just leave" followed by "if you do have to shoot someone, here's what to say and do so you don't get arrested for murder afterwards."

The girls I have spoken to on the topic (specifically the ones who are getting gender affirming surgery, since as you pointed out not everyone falls on that camp) either have or are currently working to get orchi. I can see a vasectomy as a good option, especially considering ease of access in places that are less accommodating of LGBTQ
They are but I have never met a trans girl who just wanted a vasectomy. They usually want the testes removed to cease testosterone production, which a vasectomy doesn't do.
