I honestly think this is one of the bigger contributors to inflation. For capitalist economies to thrive, competition must exist. Once you get rid of the competition, it is much easier to price fix and collude to raise prices which leads to better corporate profits but hurts consumers.

What people need to realize is that EPA regulations are a lot like those obvious product warnings you see on every day items. "Curling iron will be hot during use. Do not touch." "Caution: coffee will be hot and may burn." The reason these warnings are on products is because someone was stupid enough to make them necessary. Same goes with many EPA regulations. They are there because some greedy company made them necessary. Taking them way just causes this stuff to happen more often.
