Used to live in a place that was fairly haunted, you name it we experienced it at some point. We had dogs and they would bark at nothing and sometimes they would look up like they saw something and theirs heads would move like they were tracking someone through the room
And trust me they will come for you no matter where you are. Grandfather and a friend decided they were going to set set up a small antenna and broadcast locally, ended up broadcasting a lot further and some national agents ended in in bum fuck nowhere rural texas.
I can guarantee you that it has been way way way less than a hundred years since people have died of diarrhea or dysentery.

Wouldnt surprise me, working fast food or food service in general you start to really learn your regulars. One of the old folks died, about a quarter of the store went to the funeral. One of my old regulars ended up in a nursing home, couple of old coworkers still go up and see him wvery once in a while

I have that problem to, i just tell people im half deaf and that they need to get my full attention before telling what's going on. Though this has also led to them tapping me on my shoulder to get my attention, and usually at work lately im partially dissassociating so i tend to jump a little.
