Eh i only read the first book, and this was back in the 90s i would have been mid teens (too old perhaps)but I found it very derivative and not in a great way, I guess having read the worst witch series as a much younger child and having read Pratchett (GNU) for several years at this point, i wasn't the target audience i guess.I dunno, just felt like when father Christmas showed up in the lion the witch and the wardrobe, but for the whole book.
Yeah its definitely 2 maps that look contiguous due to how the image has been shot, but it made my brain stall for a moment
