Yea, that back box is massive! This is a much better way of doing it than having to chase the wall out after construction to bury the cable. That conduit is purposefully installed to allow cables to be installed after build work has been completed without further disruption.
1. I am a professional. 2. There would be enough cable to swap out.3. If you need to extend the cable, there is enough room in that massive box to accommodate a junction.4. The whole reason he did it this way was to allow the cable to be pulled through the conduit with ease! Want new cable? Just pull some more through!

Why do you need to cut the box out anyway?
Mad, you are literally trying to correct me on my job as an electrician. The box is not in the way, the box what allows access to the cables and room for them when the accessory is connected. It’s the opposite of in the way. It’s well designed you utter madman.
The box sits proud to allow for the tiling, or whatever the finish may be.
Why would you need to get the box out? If you do need it out, it’s plastic, so easy to break/cut it out. As for the wires, that’s a dream to pull cables into and terminate. Im an electrician and you may not believe the spaces we have to work in and yoga positions we have to hold whilst doing it.
So many ways around that. Some can be swapped out, if not I’d just use some lug extenders. Other electricians I’ve worked with use other methods though.
To be fair, the flexible conduit is what allows the maintenance and repair possible. Cables can be pulled in our out with ease, rather than be buried into the mortar.
It’s easy to forget stuff like this isn’t common knowledge. I used work in all aspects of radiology, accident and emergency, outpatients, and during many types of surgery. Also, look up barium enemas!
