I was born, I existed for a while, and now you're reading this.

Not really, you see, not only am I running away, but if they try to chase me I have a knife! It's foolproof!

Progressives in my area wanna hold emergency tribunals and execute motherfuckers the same day they're found guilty. We're also pretty mad at the "oh but that sounds too extreme" folks who think we're still at a stage where we can play nice with the fascists.

To be completely fair, if I was married to Kirk I'd also be celebrating like crazy once he died

#11 Yup, it's looking like another draft. Remind me, how did that go last time?

They misspelled "Doug Collar"

Your answer is not constructive and offers no real advice. Protests work differently everywhere, what worked in France worked because it happened in France, where everyone can go to the capital in very little travel time. You guys saying "do something" while also saying "doing something doesn't work" are more harmful than my legitimate ask for advice. Catch this block because I'm tired of having this exact conversation with yet another person who is only interested in feeling superior to someone

#1 they do, it's called Ipecac.

2 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Oh, they blocked me after responding.

Well, I guess I'll respond to what I was able to read of their response by saying: I protest visibly armed, and so does half of my group. ICE doesn't seem to want to mess with us for some reason. We are doing what we can where we can, but we are not powerful or organized enough to solve the entire problem overnight, and we know that. That's the point of these protests, gathering strength, members, and momentum. Just showing up is better than nothing.

It's not a strawman, it's a follow-up to their claim that something more needs to be done, and lackluster response to being called on to take further action themselves. But hey if all you're going to do is play debate referee, then I guess I won't be seeing you this Saturday. Have fun doing nothing and watching everything get worse, I guess.

So what would you do differently? Let's hear some constructive criticism. Let me get the big one out first: How do you suggest we solve for the attendees of a prolonged protest's families getting fed and sheltered?

Fallacy fallacy. They still have a point. Don't recommend someone else take a course of action you are unwilling to take yourself.

It's not my jam, but my daughter loves it.

I dunno, have you seen precure? Those go on for a hot minute.

3 days ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

Yup, which is why we need to get progressives in on the primaries.

3 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Whatever, dude. Have fun yelling. There's no use talking to you.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Or whatever you're accusing me of, but that's my thoughts and feelings on the matter. You can continue to yell at me if you want, but I don't think calling me stupid is going to change my opinion.

Again, stop putting words in my mouth. All of those things would have happened if the shutdown never happened, the only thing we got out of it was a month of drama and furlough. That is the nothing to which I'm referring. If he took a stand and won concessions, that'd be different. But that's not what happened. Now, if he holds his ground this time, he'll move up in my estimation, but I'm not holding my breath, because he's lost my trust. Sorry for being an "ignorant privileged leftist".

Feds who were previously willing to tough out the shutdown if it meant taking a firm stance against the regime felt betrayed. And now they're even more pissed because they think this shutdown will be pointless as well. And the thing about feelings is that's what actually wins elections. We're not an educated populace, sorry, but facts don't matter as much as prescriptions, I wish they did but they don't.

You accuse me of things you are guilty of, (editorializing) and you're putting words in my mouth. I am actually glad DHS is not being funded further, I am in favor of this shutdown, but I want him to hold the fucking line. I wanted him to hold the line last time too, The support of people I can confirm, in person, are human beings was with the Dems during that time, they were blaming the Rs for the shutdown and then he made them look weak by folding for fucking NOTHING.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did we ever confirm he was actually alive?

3 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

That maybe is supposed to say massive, my apologies.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm willing to accept that I could be misinformed, let's check my understanding of events: 1) they closed the government for ACA subsidy extensions, and refusal to give ICE a maybe funding increase. 2) public opinion was on their side during the holdout 3) Trump illegally withheld EBT funds already provisioned in the budget. 4) Schumer and the traitor 8 cave on all issues in exchange for a pinky promise to discuss the subsidies later. 5) Republicans deny the subsidies. Am I mistaken?

Murc's law being what it is, I still wanna punch Merrick Garland until my hands break for slow-walking the Trump prosecution. If he'd been treated fairly, he'd be in jail without bail during year one of the Biden admin, and the investigation into his Epstein ties, stolen federal records, racketeering, and all of the fraud should have at least gotten started the day after the inauguration.

Yes, I understand it is being fought, but I don't trust Schumer to hold the line because he's demonstrated that he's willing to fold on a winning hand. I want a decisive win now before he gives up and throws in the towel. Because he's done it before and I remember how devastating it was the last time it happened. People are dead because he didn't stand up to the Republicans last time, I don't trust him.
