You should check out your local minor league or AA team. My experience is that those are much more fun than any major league game I have ever been to. Smaller crowds, more engaging entertainment, cheaper food, and the games are more exciting.

Black Plague (1346 - 1353) .... so .... fuck quarantine? That doesn't sound productive though.

"... we own the land where you want to put solar/wind." Case in point the recent wind power deal the asshole in chief canceled for a $1B fee/fine.

If you want to fly, find a retired CW3-5 helicopter pilot local to you and ask them for advice. Guarantee that there are civilian paths to do what you dream of that you just aren't privy to right now.

They would normally only open the draft up to the younger age range but retain the option to expand to the full age range if they can't fulfill their numbers from a limited draft.

Honestly, I think the underlying trend was mostly flat. The reason why it looks like it is going down is because we were getting to the end of the job correction from COVID. If the chart went back a couple more years we would see the massive negative drop of 2020-21. My guess is that the numbers from that and the cumulative numbers from the downward slope of Biden's years are roughly equal and if they were removed from consideration you would see a stagnant line that didn't improve or worsen.

Sometimes diplomacy is knowing when to step back and walk away. The allies of yesterday may not be the allies of tomorrow. Nothing is static in politics and relationships.

Yep. Walk with a cane, can't hear out my left ear and continuously hear the static heat death of the universe coming in hot from my right, liver is doing fucky stuff (overdosed on pain meds), knee looks like Swiss cheese under MRI, back and hips constantly in pain ... all for the low price of roughly $4.50 / hour (calculated at 24/7 because the military owns soldiers in ways civilians don't fully understand).

Why don't we just assume that there isn't a good tradesman involved in the process at all from the start.

That would also imply admitting he was wrong and then paying reparations to Iran. Both of which he would never willingly do and both of which I would love to see happen.

I guess the real question is: "where is everyone's red line?" Because for any rational person you would think that the line should have already been crossed universally for everyone and damn near rioting should have already broken out spontaneously because of that. But I'm not seeing those indicators in the people based off of everything being reported (even independently reported).

I understand. But you are describing scheduled and planned outrage vs what we are seeing on the international stage as spontaneous and organic outrage. Can you see how penciling in your displeasure kinda cheapens the issue you are trying to convey?

I typed "led against the..." don't know why it didn't show other than I hit the 500 character limit. Wasn't aware of the stolen valor portion of The Devil Dogs, I'll look into that book you mentioned. Still doesn't change my answer to "what are 5000 marines going to do" though: they are going to end up killing people and getting killed in return.

#13 being mostly unprepared for two really long walks (even though one of them took several years before deciding on actually starting the walk).

I know your question is slightly rhetorical, but they are a very specific group of marines: they are the ones who normally enter and open ground engagements first, see the most intensive combat, and have a historical high casualty rate (when things go tits up). They were the Devil Dogs in WWI, they had a 36% casualty rate at Iwo Jima (WWII) and the Chosin Reservoir (Korean War), they also led the Tet Offensive (Vietnam) and the first and second battles of Fallujah. When they deploy, people die.

They are only surprised because they never read the intelligence reports for the last 50 fucking years on Iran's evolving capabilities. Some intelligence officer out there is yelling at the wall like Charlton Heston screaming at the ruins of the Statue of Liberty.

Go touch grass ... literally. Go on walks in nature regularly. It helps regulate all that anger naturally and gives you a good physical outlet: just walking.
