Teacher here, experienced a real lock down with elementary school students. It's the most stressful and terrifying feeling. I had them in the corner of the room for nearly an hour and we all had no idea why. Turns out it was a parent threatening gun violence. But for an hour I was waiting to hear a gun shot and barricading my door and trying to keep these little 7 year Olds quiet and calm. I kept thinking " oh fuck. It's our turn "
I don't think this is "neurodivergent" I think it's just being overwhelmed.
I like to be active at my job so sitting at a desk at home is a "no go" for me
I'm an art teacher and I'm totally going to use this as an inspiration for a project for next year !

Idk. Maybe it's just normal to find it hard to focus sometimes? I feel like we're treating this actual diagnosis like it's some kind of merit badge. Adhd is real but now it's being treated as "trendy" So if you have even a moments struggle with finishing tasks it's "just my adhd!" Instead of trying to muster an ounce of discipline. Idk. I think too many people don't understand what a "disorder" means.
