If housing availability were to double and the homeless population were to be cut in half, the number of homes per homeless would quadruple. All that statistic really says is how poorly informed someone is about housing in the US. Most rental homes are owned by individuals, not investors.

I think that this view is hopeless naive. Anyone who isn't paying attention is ignorant by choice. What you see now is who Americans truly are. I don't try to pretend otherwise just because it is ugly.
