I bought my current house and there was a literal live wire, exposed, just stuffed into a wall through a small hole in the drywall. Didn’t realize until we tore out the kitchen to rebuild it and found the wire behind a cabinet.

That was fun

“This wasn’t included in the original quote, because who would be dumb enough to have done this?”

Sounds like unhealthy coping mechanisms for undiagnosed/untreated mental health issues. That’s sucks, and I’m sorry you have to deal with it

I love that physical board you made. That thing is both unique and awesome, and it alone would make me want to try out your game whatever the rules or models/tokens end up being.

Good luck on the journey!

Thanks! A rimworld expansion is an interesting idea. I’ll add that to my moodboard and see if it would fit

That’s the secret: it’s all one city. The KS side and MO side aren’t actually worth distinguishing between

A connection to an Amazon wallet and a stocker who has been told to shut up and do their job is a dangerous combination

Way cheaper than buying it outright, and you can use fraud to make it even cheaper

Oh they read it. They’re just assuming it was a how-to

I may be weird, but that part has never been that awful for me… drinking the stuff though, that lives on in my nightmares.

I cared deeply about my parents when I went to college, but I was bombarded by so many new social situations, stressful experiences, and bad sleep nights that I often didn’t have the emotional energy to talk to them… let alone unpack everything I was going through.

I’m deeply grateful they were there and wanting to connect with me. Not being able to wasn’t a lack of desire, it was complete shutdown of non-essential (I.e. stay alive) functions.

It’ll be ok. Be there for them when they’re ready

Looks like all of the all of the above. It basically is a big treadmill but with carpet on it instead.

The game will never “launch”. It launched a decade ago and is as stable as it will ever be.

The gameplay loop is tossing money in a pit so that you can play second life in space.

Oh they knew. They could blame it on democrats and help unify their base.

Yeah, I describe LLMs as “very confident Reddit posters” and that seems to connect better with people than trying to explain statistical text prediction methods they use. Same quality of information too.

Is it right? Maybe, in part.

Is it what the internet in that subcommunity want to shove down your throat? Absolutely

Like, what do you expect to see? Yes, it’s a terrible situation. No, it shouldn’t have happened. Yes, there should have been more done to keep someone with mental illness away from the general public.

But that’s not the discussion they want to see. They want to see vitriolic anger and screeds of hundreds of people just as angry as they are.

So, something to realize with your friend is that the right wing media doesn’t argue in good faith, and he’s (she’s?) not actually asking for examples in order to feel better. The friend is just angry and upset and using the language of right wing media to express it.

There’s no link or article out there that will “prove them wrong” or meet their expectations. Their worldview is skewed and won’t change.

Trump specifically requested only the documents that required judicial approval to be released, and are rarely approved. It was entirely a strategy to say “see? They won’t let me”

Even though there’s a ton of other documents he could easily release by himself, but chose not to

There’s also a lot of stuff that sounds sci fi (“Obsidian Clearance”?), but doesn’t jive with how current AI models actually work.

This seems like an art project that doesn’t understand the large language models current AI tools are actually built on

Love the conversions. I’m stressed out by just shoving the model onto an exact blade for display 😂

Very. I kick my cat out every time I use a power tool in the house, and inevitably the moment I stop to figure out what my next move is he pokes his head back around the doorway to see what’s happening. He then proceeds to scamper off terrified when I start again.

He’s so dumb, but so adorable.

I don’t know about you, but the novelization of Avengers: Endgame made me weep, made me laugh out loud, and is overall one of the top 100 pieces of literature released in the last (checks notes) 25 years. I can’t believe how long it took them to make a movie of it.

I don’t think it’ll ever happen. I think the ending to the show was gonna be the ending to the books, and now GRRM doesn’t want to finish them because he doesn’t know what to do differently.
