Make cranberry sauce from scratch. It tastes so much better.
I go to a Goodwill that sells clothes $1.59/lb. A bag of toys is $0.79/lb. Shoes $3.50/pair. Bags, purses, backpacks $3.50 each. I have to get there early or the flippers get all the good stuff.
I remember picking up PCs that people tossed because they bought a newer PC. I took 6 junk PCs and turned them into 4 running PCs. There was also a large oak banquet table that was tossed due to water stains. We played Diablo 1 on LAN. Best summer of my youth.
Maybe crabs. It is an easier evolution.

The most impressive rowing I've seen was the Ukranian team finishing with a sunken boat.
