Reminder that Sally was the half sister to Jefferson’s wife, Martha. She is said to have greatly resembled Martha. Sally and Martha’s father was in the same rapist vein as Jefferson

This is actually trained in library school. I have my MLIS and one thing drilled into multiple classes was that the homeless and the poor are also patrons and deserve our programs. We talked about how to make things accessible and comfortable for everyone. Though I’ve not ended up as a librarian, I took that lesson to heart.

The first show I ever did in marching band was the planets. I remember we all loved Jupiter so much we’d occasionally just start playing it in slow moments. For six years, the group who was around for it dwindled but we still played it at least once, every year. Senior year we played it on the bus on the way to finals for the final time. It’s always been one of my favorite pieces of music: mixed up with the memories of the show, those impromptu sessions, and the feeling of being in the music.

I have an off the track thoroughbred who is the most laid back horse I’ve ridden. So much so, his name is Pokey! Every horse is an individual and shouldn’t be judged on breed alone

Pillsbury’s are very sweet. These may be “canned” ones (which are poor examples)

Cold cream or just make-up remover. You don’t need kitchen staples to take off makeup

If a horse has weak or damaged hooves, nailing horseshoes on is impractical. Glue-on shoes help support hoof structures without causing further damage. Neither is “better” than the other just different purposes. Like sandals versus boots

The data itself sits within US-owned systems. I imagine their agreements also stipulate following US law. In our global, digital world, national borders matter far less

This is excellent translation. I started copying the “food here” call when I give them food/need them to come over and my girls come running

I travelled 3700 miles to go see that and it was absolutely worth it!

And much of this is readily available in farm stores. Half my prep meds are from my farm animals. Write down the dosages with your stash.

Anyone who’s worked outside for a long period understands the value of a bandana! Great addition

That is usually always my reaction when the orange dictator is shown or quoted. The worst part is knowing that a percentage of the United States is so uneducated that they’re cheering him on

Many ring companies (finger rings at least) make failure points on their rings. If they can’t be sawn off sometimes they can be pinched enough to break at the failure points. That’s usually for tungsten rings. If you get a finger ring stuck, go to a jewelry store. They’ll get you sorted.

I have a similar rubber piece to hold an airtag for my cat. The other side has his name, address and my phone number. Probably would have solved the mystery if someone snagged him instead of videotaping

My one kitten was a stray who walked right up to my husband and my dog as if to say “I’m yours now”. The next litter of kittens from the same mom did the same. Their mom was completely feral and impossible to catch. They did all come with fleas and respiratory infections though so, yeah, could be fake

I’ve reread them about every five years. Going to disagree with others and say it does hold up. It’s a compelling adventure tale with great characters. It has remained in my top favorites for decades

Means “custom” in the States. “Bespoke” is more widely used in the UK (and in tailoring circles)

I picked up a Singer 29k72 at a garage sale. Curious what is the thickest thing you’ve sewn with yours? My husband wants to use it for holsters but doesn’t think it will sew through multiple layers of leather.

@op Can I suggest Swat? It’s made to keep flies out of farm animal wounds. Safe to put around wounds and smells nasty enough that other animals shouldn’t want to lick it

My dogs tell on themselves all the time. Many times they’ll look super guilty and I have to SEARCH for what they chewed up
