You are right, I wasn't there and the diagnostic criteria of Autism at the time it was originally created would mean that nobody who was autistic by those standards was involved because it only included what we would now call profound autism or ASD3. To imply that diagnosis and criteria were inclusive at any time that is not recent is disingenuous.
Good lord... do your own research. I told you I went to college for this and have studied it. The creation of the criteria for all neurodivergences were initially created by neurotypicals and focused on outward representation. Even 20 years ago I would not have been diagnosed because I mask well and the understanding of what autism is and is not was controlled by neurotypicals that only studied men. This is public information.
I am not saying that Autistic people cannot create the criteria, just that we didn't.I am a married, mid 40s, mother of 2, with a great career. I studied psychology and the criteria and how they are created in college.I make more money than my loving husband.I also have very intense sensory issues.
