Tbh, get a break from any media in general. Bad things get our attention, and you wouldn't know about them if you aren't exposed to media.Maybe also read about Stoicism, and how it really works, most people get the idea behind it wrong. It really is beneficial in the era of information bombardment.

As a non american, how much power does a mayor have in the US? Can he raise taxes on his own? Bc in Germany the most impactul thing he can do is declaring agricultural plots to housing plots. Even a large factory (meat processing in that case) has to be approved by at least 33% or the (small, up to 25k inhabitants) towns population.
