I don’t think any new thatched cottages are built. Thatching was used for roofs as it was a cheap readily available material some hundred years or so ago, though many cottages are much older than that. The thatch lasts about 20 years then has to be replaced, so the craft of thatching is kept alive, you can see fairly new thatch and old needing to be replaced thatch in the photos.
Taken over a six-month period. Why bother? Well, I paid to have our old mattress taken away when a new one was delivered, this street seems to run throw it out the window policy. I never bothered taking pictures of setees chairs etc, when it is on your commute route you notice things.
