This was foster to legal guardianship as they were both older teens (one had a baby with her). We received some assistance 1/2
From the state, but a lot of it was out of our pocket and we were totally fine as they needed permanency & stability; that's priceless.

I have a single friend that adopted. Don't count yourself out & let the foster assessment team be the judge if that's your desire. 1/2
Even a good, single parent is worth more than its weight in gold to a kid that's never had a single good one.
