This space left intentionally blank.

It's not meant to change MAGA or leadership minds, because yeah they don't give a fuck. It's meant to embolden people on the fence.

Religion always seems to lead to this shit.

"Midlife crisis" is a boomer term anyway. Just like how *their* grandparents knew it as "shell shock" and now we understand it as PTSD. A midlife crisis is probably a convention of different things; depression, trauma, the common realization that you're staring down retirement and an empty nest, the dismantling of the family unit and the village of duties by capitalism, etc.

If you gave him an enema, you could bury him in a matchbox.

I am educated, smart, and empathetic. I fear the uncertainty of the future because there are conservatives in it.

Well, Bill Maher's show is actually not on Fox, it's on HBO, which... ahhhhh fuck.

Is it because you know in your Teutonic heart that what they did was not only ineffective, but ultimately *inefficient*?

Do what? Draft the EO? Deep red legislatures may locally (& illegally) suspend elections in response, but the rest of us will be voting.

The US vs. Russia dichotomy is outdated. We are ever becoming a multi-polar world. Israel is a far, far greater threat to the US.

Ooh, yeah, definitely see the Assembly Cut/Special Edition for Alien 3. It changes a few key things and adds more character development. Imo: 1 > 2 > 3 > Romulus > Prometheus > Resurrection > Covenant.

Alien 3 is great.

It is disgraceful, yes. But systemic conditions are being *inflicted* on people by a parasitic global elite. American domestic politics are front and center of this because the US is a nexus of that power and money, but it is absolutely worldwide. I am pissed the fuck off at dumbass, feckless Americans, too, but keep the main thing the main thing: billionaires and corporatocracy give less and less shits about borders and democracy each passing day.

I don't believe in American exceptionalism whatsoever. You take ANY people and put them through this shit, the result will be the same.

Conservatives are fuckin gone. Independents and the 80M+ people who sit out elections are the ones who need to wake up.

Yep, it's ok to be mad for *any* reason- feelings can't be helped. If you're not ready to talk about it, you can say so. But eventually you do need to communicate with your partner and work it out, rather than the simmering passive aggressive resentment crap that'll just explode one day.

I don't hate Brian Tyler Cohen's work, but he got caught up in the Chorus scandal taking money from Israel to never mention Gaza.

It's probably omnipresent and unnoticeable in nature because the environment agitates all the schmutz off, whereas these are pets.

The US and western Europe embraced some forms of social democracy in the post-war order. Material conditions were good for a lot of people in those times. And now that corporatism has taken hold, it impels men to embrace dangerous identity politics that play into the hands of people who would exploit them all over again. You can't kill ideas, and so long as we allow for the corpofascist capture to fracture society, we are stuck in the eternal return of some Very Bad Ideas.

I don't disagree with you. But so long as there is a profit motive to sell the omnipresence of "security" to people, the shape of our society will, again and again, make those tools ripe for abuse rather than liberation. When security is actually about keeping people safe, not just the wealthy, and not just glutting the contractors selling their illusions to our elected officials holding the purse they help themselves to, then the tools will live up to their purpose.

AP is a fairly reliable mainstream source, especially compared to this.
