Let's say you're at work and something is dated 04-10-2015. Is it in April or October? No clue, and it was too long ago to remember.
When the hell are you going to state the date as "twenty-dash-one"?
And eliminates all confusion when you live in a place where both dd-mm-yyyy and mm-dd-yyyy are used. #9 made me angry!
I've seen dogs trained to do this for autistic people who would rather not be hugged/touched by people, this could also be the explanation?
