I always up vote kitties and sewing machines!!
Yes, it’s called Erie
And no pictures?? You can’t tease us like that
Thank you! Was just wondering that last night
Great…new fear unlocked
Snort +1
Lots of FB groups for the older machines, lots of love for them honestly, I’m sure lots of good information on YouTube also, you’d be amazed at how far gone a machine or cabinet can be in and still be brought back.Too many people don’t value the old machines, Singers after the early 90’s aren’t worth the plastic they’re made of. Those machines were made in the millions, but so many were lost to metal recycling during WW2.
We call those “bufflers”…
Coolness! I’d love lots of pics if you have the time and inclination, please and thank you. They had some beautiful decals back then, even though I don’t have many Singers pre 1900, I’m always looking to learn more about them. Think my oldest Singer is an early 1880’s 12 hand crank. The metal Singers will last another 100 yrs and can easily be up and running if it’s not right at this moment, they were/are beasts. Thanks for getting back to me, hope you’re not still totally screwed in Austin.
If you’ve had time, what did you find out? (I got into sewing about 5 years ago AND I’m into antiques, it’s ugly and crowded at my house, my oldest is from 1877)
Seconded, game changer, life improver.
Where’s that located? Great picture
And male
My heart hurts for you and your fur babies. The only thing I can do to help from afar is to encourage you to look up ChumpLady.com. Her blog can help you get your mind out of the mind fuck blender and give you a roadmap to a happier and more peaceful place. There are lots of wonderful people over there who can help you and guide you, see that there’s a way through this shit show that you didn’t sign up for. Good luck and hugs.
Damnnnn…
I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have if you’d like, FB and YouTube have got some great groups and creators I’d recommend. Good luck and happy seam ripping!! (My most used tool is my seam ripper, lol)
I read your comment , and laughed, and laughed, then cried, lol. I don’t quilt, but, I joke that I use my seam ripper more than my sewing machine.
That’s wonderful! At 53, I still have a baby blanket made by my great grandmother. All my travels, all the places I’ve lived, still have it.
What a beauty!
Glad you made it out !
Thanks, I always wondered 😁
*Love*
Also, cats and sewing groups, the best of both worlds!
Love your post and projects! Every time someone mentions their sewing machine, I wanna see it and their work space. There’s some great denim up-cycling groups on FB if you haven’t already found them, they’d love your jackets. Following for more inspiring projects.
There’s some very helpful groups on FB, including up cycling denim. I learned so much from just watching Cornelius Quiring’s shorts (lol) on YouTube. I picked up sewing 5 years ago and fell in love with it!
Make sure that they also test her T3 and T4’s not just her TSH, also, it’s good to know what her antibodies are reading. 90% of hypothyroid peeps also have Hashimoto’s disease. I find that I do better when mine is closer to 0.0-1.0. Hope she gets tested. Also, HRT is a game changer at our age (53)

How is the walking going? I like it when you post your journey, inspires me to keep going myself. Also, LOVE your cell less wonder, he’s beautiful!
Trump’s dick *cheese*
That’s so cool! My husband does machine embroidery and I sew, we’re in our 50’s and started 5 yrs ago. He knows more about thread, fabric and machines, than I do and I love it! We go into fabric stores and I just let him lead since he knows what I need and what I’m making. (Covid messed up my brain/memory) Being able to fix and make/create stuff freaking rules and I wish I’d had someone like you to show me decades ago. 1+
I heard that in my head..
