We call our dog the "fun police" because he does exactly this anytime he's feeling left out of snuggles or hugs or laughing.
I was thinking more of "Cars as a hobby will be very fun, and then work will be difficult. Pick a worse hobby."

To make a tough call. Definitely not a good look leaving a dog to survive the fire on his own though.
I absolutely can't imagine abandoning my dog and animals. You never know how much heads up they had, or if they tried and failed and had 1/2
