At this point I wouldn't be surprised to hear Thomas voting to overturn the 13th amendment either.
The NYT did in fact run an article yesterday about the UN commissions findings Tuesday.
If the GOP were trying to do stuff via Congress then the Dems could work to block it. The Trump admin though is just looking to bypass Congress altogether, which renders the Dems powerless except for trying to take the admin to court, which they're trying, but is not a quick process.
Disregarding mountains and the like, the Earth isn't perfectly round. It's an oblate spheroid.
The Earth isn't a perfect sphere, so he is correct there. It's an oblate spheroid.
As Merchan is a state judge, I think impeachment would have to happen via the state legislature.
The President can only pardon people convicted of federal crimes, not state crimes. Since this is a state case, then cannot pardon.Granted, this assumes the Supreme Court doesn't step in and change the assumed meaning of the Constitution on this.
The Peruvian Tunnel opened at Snowbird in 2006 I believe.
I'm curious to see how the case Utah is bringing against the federal government for control of the public lands in Utah will turn out under the Trump administration.
How do you think Democrats could have blocked an incoming GOP legislation from giving federally owned land over to private industries? Destroying public lands is something like all GOP want, and is not a Trump specific thing either.
It'll work just as well as how Mexico was supposed to pay for a border wall.
Did he actually deny it? I thought he has never mentioned it and has tried to just ignore the whole thing.
Switch to a different bank. I moved from BoA to Schwab and they charge no fees and my checking account there gets more interest than my old BoA savings account did.
No, gotta keep voting red, all the riches will trickle down one of these days!
They put in place guardrails for the bot so as to (hopefully) prevent it going off the rails. The guardrails are usually stuff in the prompt as well as possibly having an additional layer scanning input for inappropriate stuff. However, doing this costs additional money so why bother for a twitter bot.
Yellow is the color of cowardice. Under the "thin blue line" is really a line of cowardice as the cops of America are big cowards who only know how to use violence to solve any and all problems as anything else would require real courage.
Per the APD press release, "SWAT officers from APD and the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office tried for several hours to convince them to peacefully exit the home". At a certain point, the police probably do need to go in after a suspect who refuses to come out.
The talking point would be pretty easy to sell given that Dems have passed some large bills, like where if the economy cratered, then he could talk about how he left Biden with perfect economy policies, but then Dems passed the Inflation Reduction Act which has now destroyed our economy, and that we need to re-elect Trump to get back the perfect economy policies again.

It's still not totally clear why the board voted to kick Altman out. It's thought that the board didn't like how much Altman was pushing for maximizing revenue for OpenAI vs its original core goal of "help humanity", and were worried that Altman was moving too fast with some of his announcements and things, but it's all speculation atm.
On Friday, the board voted to kick out Altman (CEO) and remove chair of board (who then quit). Over weekend, bunch of employees signed a letter saying they'd leave if altman wasn't made CEO again. Board talked to Altman about being CEO again (under immense pressure also from Microsoft who is biggest OpenAI investor), but talks broke down. MS today hired Altman to run a new business unit, and its thought that many employees may follow him to MS, leaving OpenAI as a shell of itself.
