I can't believe the IDF are shooting people in America.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

These people are being genocided in their own homeland and targeted for hate crimes here in the states, and the US government doesn't seem to give a shit about either.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

LOL @ "were able to survive." Can we just call it "American" and not "English (US)"?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 14

That's it... I have completely given up on humanity.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There was a time in my life when I wanted to visit the US. It was a long time ago and now I wouldn’t even go if I was forced. I feel sorry for all the good people in the US who has to live in a such fucked up country.

His life ruined by some bigot!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Shot simply for wearing his people's traditional clothing.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Rightoids like this fucker just waiting for what they think is an excuse to try and commit some murder. There is no political party of the face of the Earth that is less pro-life than the Republican party. These fuckers make the USSR look like a goddamned charity with their complete and utter disregard for human life and decency.

Here, have a gif.

I feel sorriest for this poor kid, but pour one out for Abdalhamid. Imagine getting shot in the ass and walking away with survivor's guilt for it because you were the lucky one.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Stupid headline! He was shot in the spine not in Vermont!

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 23

I really like dark humor when it's funny but this is just a poor attempt at best.

I Didn’t imply anything! Didn’t make sense to me at first glance . English is the second language to me

Why no link to the GoFundMe?

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

This sucks on so many levels. I bet the nutjob thought they were Al Qaeda agents of Hillary or some shit. That's the US in a nutshell, we're so racist we don't even shoot the brown people we think we're actually mad at.

2 years ago | Likes 122 Dislikes 7

Kid is white as fuck. They hate to hate. Skin colour is just one of the many things they hate. This is about being different from their twisted ways, no matter what is different about you

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No, it's because the US media and AIPAC/Israel/IDF whatever have been spitting lie after lie and never correcting themselves, demonising Palestinians and saying things like the keffiyeh are 'terrorist' and 'antisemitic'.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I think the media that make out palestians and anti israel as antisemitic is what's triggering them. Yeah, these exact same people who are antisemitic racists. Probably don't like the competition. Or probably they have no rational thought.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

What pisses me off (this time) is rusty they need to have an $800,000 go fund me to cover medical costs after all of it.

2 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

That won't cover what's incurred already.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its because of Israeli propaganda. Don't let them deflect their responsibility in inciting this attack.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

I was looking for a picture of the shooter but I'm guessing it's a white, overweight dude with goatee and sunglasses.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

White, skinny dweeb. Ms Google is your friend. His name is Jason J Eaton.

2 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

allegedly. I don't mean to play devil's advocate, but the news portrays everyone as guilty until proven innocent.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

" we're so racist we don't even shoot the brown people we think we're actually mad at."

Uhhhh... Can no one else see the problem here? So it's okay to shoot the "right" brown people? Seriously do you guys hear yourselves? Holy shit.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

You are really gad at interpretation

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's not what they mean. They're being facetious to make a point, it's all fucking wrong. Why are all you nutbags significantly missing the part of your brain that develops nuance. Clearly from a significant lack of reading anything else but nra weekly. 🤦🏼‍♀️

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The fuck you mean yourselves? It's all freaking far right wing nazis and those who keep on saying "both sides." Anyone saying both sides at this point is just a closet nazi. Also you act like no other country is racist. Hilarious.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It's almost the people who shoot people they think are terrorists are terrorists themselves, but the mirror they look in will never say it.

2 years ago | Likes 50 Dislikes 1

I tried explaining this to a white friend of mine and he got so confused.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

v so well put I’m stunned. The smile is out of place in this gif, but the rest is right on time for your comment. How terrifyingly right you are +1

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Maine and Vermont are not generally places where one thinks of mass shootings, but thanks to the GOP hate machine and NRA, here we are.

2 years ago | Likes 345 Dislikes 7

Also thanks to the media making anyone who speaks out against Israel's atrocities seem like an evil person

2 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 4

Yet another place marked off the list that I can not think about living, out even visiting probably. Sigh. Is there any state that isn't full of brain dead racists?

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

state? no. counties? Of course.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Vermont has a fascist problem that people ignore because it generally stays in the mountains after the pavement ends.

2 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

EVERY state is like this. The only thing dictating whether a state is red or blue is the % population in the sticks vs. the pavement.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To the surprise of no one, the press has been very quiet about this.

2 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 3

Palestinian irish but the article seems to focus a lot on the palestinian part, despite the investigation still going on. Cynism goes both way. Maybe its actually better to not sraw conclusion and stirr turmoil if nobody is certain

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

Nothing*

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe bc they weren't shot for wearing a shamrock, but for wearing something else.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You're ignoring that two other Palestinians were shot in the attack. As well as this part:

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There are two Vermonts, the ultra-progressive places like Burlington, and the rest of the state. Those "take back Vermont" signs you see painted on barns are usually conservative MAGA types upset by everyone else. Also when I lived there (2005-2012) there were two gun laws, total, "no one except an instructor engaged in the teaching students may bring a firearm onto school grounds" and "no minor under the age of 16 may carry a concealed handgun without their parents permission"

2 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

"ultra progressive areas like Burlington" you mean the place where this hate crime occurred?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Target rich environment.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah, its one of the places in the state where there's any diversity at all, and the two Vermonts thing I was talking about isn't strictly limited by geography. There are a whole bunch of people in Burlington who hate that its a progressive college town.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There's also a lot of latent racism in the state, including by the "ultra-progressives" in Burlington and Montpelier, not helped by how not diverse the state is. There was a VPR story 6ish years ago how a black guy moved from Georgia and talked about how much worse VT was for him and his family.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Yeah that's definitely an issue up there too, it's not a diverse place. Burlington is a bit better because of the colleges, but only a bit, its still a big problem.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Same with Massachusetts and New Hampshire- free havens and scary places

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yeah, its kinda the whole US TBH, you've got the places where everyone lives, and has to get along and deal with each other, and then you've got big empty tracts of land with like 500 people living there, at least a few of whom have never left town. (I say this as someone who has lived in the smaller places quite a bit. I've seen a Confederate-gadston-american flag hybrid flying over an american flag with trump on it, in MA)

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Same unfortunately.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

And I grew up in the Pennsyltuckey area. Just hoping for Democracy to prevail

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I would really like to hear the defense for "not guilty".

2 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 0

He's hoping his MAGA buddies on the force will intimidate witnesses and lie on the stand.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The olde "Semite Panic" defense /s

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

In American courtrooms that just means "I admit nuffink, guv" versus guilty, which translates to "it's a fair cop, guv".

2 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Same defense as all the hate crimes that took place after 9/11 most likely

2 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

Tbh experience had taught me the hard way: I'm just glad the cops didn't lie and say that these kids shot themselves

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

"My plea deal was 25 years so I'll take the chance of getting 40 in a trial or walking"

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Especially after shooting them in the spine and glute…

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

"I was standing my ground...by stalking behind, and then sneaking up on three people that I felt threatened by, and shooting them in the backs" in a nutshell, iirc. But yeah, "threatened" and "standing his ground", from three strangers who did not engage him in any way, shape, or form, before he opened fire on them.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Vermont doesn't have a stand your ground defense.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, I'd argue that stand your ground also doesn't apply to sneak attacking folk like this, but this shooter douche doesn't seem like the brightest tool in the shed.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh, it definitely doesn't apply here in any state. But the main fact is that Vermont doesn't even have it as a law.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The dude was caught after the fact in his home. Since he wasn't caught at the scene, his lawyers are likely planning to argue that he wasn't the one that shot those kids. There's a good amount of evidence, though, so we'll see how this shakes out in court. https://abcnews.go.com/US/suspect-pleads-guilty-vermont-shooting-3-college-students/story?id=105178995

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

One of the things I learned on a jury is that someone is not saying they are or are not guilty of *all* crime, just the very specific crime they are being charged with. He could argue that he wasn't attempting to kill them, just maim them a little, for fun, and dodge the murder charge if his defense could give any doubt as to the charge of attempted murder. Convince them to think, yeah, maybe he did just want to kneecap some kids, and that's a not guilty verdict.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I really do think the state of Vermont should be paying for his medical bills.

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

As a Vermonter, I say the man can just pull himself up by his bootstraps.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 26

more like vermonster

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh wow, how regressive of you. Clearly did you read none of what was said, you added nothing of value. It's 480 characters at most. But ride your virtue wagon down the road of mediocrity and for supporting the shooter.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What? Who is it that you think has medical bills? I'll give you a hint, it's not the shooter.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At some point in the near future, people are going to realize that an /s isn't "sometimes" necessary. It's ALWAYS necessary. Always. Wait, I'm wrong. Unless you're an inhuman goblin.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

The guy who shot him? We shouldn't pay for any of his crap. The man clearly shot him out of Fox news inspired hatred and I won't stand for it.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

No. The State needs to be liable for not stopping this shit. Gun control, red flag laws, prosecuting people who spread this hateful rhetoric without consequences. Change only happens when people start feeling the pain themselves.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

We have those. My brother in christ, its my fucking state, and we have those.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Oof. I really want to make a dark joke about "feeling the pain" here. Nah. I'll put that down and back away.
