Epoxying a cheap diamond file to a rod works great when you have a lot of metal to remove
Glue flat metal stock to a piece of wood, insert a steel rod in it and double sided tape emerycloth/or wet and dry to the metal.
I recommend just buying the cheapest angle guide you can find and making your own rods/stones.
They are great for setting up the edge with a consistent angle along the entire length and quite foolproof, but not for a quick edge touchup
