An added bonus is clipped horses look better for competition, but the main reason is for the health and comfort of the horse.
Thick coats in warm temps are even worse - imagine wearing a winter coat in Florida that you can’t take off.

It keeps hard working horses from sweating under a thick coat in cold temps, which can cause chills/scald/fungus/hives.

Unfortunately they don’t invoke that sort of punishment on shitty dog owners or ignorant uneducated rednecks on the internet, lucky for you.
In 2008, according to the CLSD, the Labrador was the most common dog involved in attacks on humans at 13.3%, pit bulls at only 8.4%
With improper and over breeding, poor handling and negative socialization, along with specific training, you bet it’s possible.

I’d say the explanation lies w/ dog fighting. Dog fighting spiked in the 80’s (which is when the CDC records the most injuries/deaths 1/
In 2012 a 72yo man represented Japan in the Olympics. I’d say his career has been pretty long. You just have to choose a sport w/ longevity.

I visited my grandma for the 1st time since she was diagnosed with dementia (moved away for job)..I hope this is how she feels. I miss her.

He is a Lusitano! My first horse was an Arabian mare though, she was one of my best horses to this day.
You are thinking of saddle seat or big lick. Dressage is 90% stretching if you know what you’re doing. It’s only painful if it’s forced.
