I realize this wasn't as obvious as I thought it would be when I made this post... I was supposed to type: grep -R eth0 *
Right, but you got where I was going with this... I just tend to forget the * for some reason.
It makes more sense when piping command output to grep.
Interesting. If that's the case, I had no idea.
Same difference. Capital R is habit because commands like 'ls' differentiate between -r and -R.
Recursive search thru /etc. In migrating a CentOS install udev had changed eth0+eth1 to em1 and p3p1. So I wanted to find references to eth_
With an absence of a file or wildcard at the end, grep will search stdin (your keyboard input).
I might be qualified for 342,847,392 IT jobs, give or take.
Why does that dog remind me of Guy Pearce?
Mine's like a "sweat and sour" sauce right now.
I think the writers understood this, and that's why they made Flanders say "naturally" to further the joke.
