I dont even think it's that. People working in the hard sciences are often surrounded by data and unbiased, unflavored facts all the time. Like so many other concepts throughout history the basic concepts of eugenics isn't necessarily bad. Selectively breeding to potentially increase the quality of humans in various ways as generations go by. But also like so many other concepts, when the raw concept of the idea meets the real world it doesnt work because of numerous factors.
