I want to clarify this means gradually reducing the temperature to allow them to go dormant, not just tossing the poor thing in a freezer.
For a warm blooded creature it does, cold blooded creatures enter a state called torpor and become dormant. Then they just, don't wake up.

It makes sense therefore to commit now to a renewable changeover. Even if climate change is disproven somehow, we still reap mass benefits.
Specifically I'm getting at climate change. Greenhouse effect or not fossil fuels pollute, and its an industry that will run out someday.
True, but in many things, even if the cure does not solve X problem, but its an overall improvement in the long run anyway.
