They have a moderate left stance but in the last years their hard left part pushed for more left ideas like taxing the uber wealthy exponentially.
Also continuous need for water in quantity and temperature in a changing climate is also a factor which limits first the location for nuclear power plants and therefore also the need for power transmission from these locations to god knows where. Solar can be produced wherever there is sun. Wind also. The amount varies but I don't need to ship energy half the country away because of it.

Build time is absurd and costly. There is not a single reactor in the world that ever was financially positive all costs included.
Envision what it would mean to pour 12 billion each week into education, renewable energy, domestic stabilization and foreign aid programs. The whole reason for fighting a war for resources or fear of being invaded would vanish.
